Who we are
North Direction Immigration is an immigration consulting practice based in Toronto, Ontario, led by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the CICC Code of Professional Conduct.
Information we collect
Through our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), country of residence (optional), the topic of your enquiry, your preferred contact method and your message.
If you become a client, we collect the information needed for your immigration matter. This may include identity and travel documents, education and employment history, family details, financial information and other records required by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB).
When you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email, we keep records of those conversations.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, assess your options, prepare and submit applications on your behalf, communicate with government authorities you have authorized us to deal with, and meet our professional and legal obligations. We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Sharing your information
We share personal information only with your consent or where required: with IRCC, the IRB, Canada Border Services Agency or other authorities for your matter, with trusted service providers such as email and secure file storage, and with the CICC if required for regulatory purposes.
Storage and safeguards
Client files are protected with reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards. Some service providers may store data outside Canada, in which case it may be subject to the laws of that country. Client records are kept for the period required by the CICC and then securely destroyed.
Your rights
You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent subject to legal and contractual limits. Contact us at north-direction@outlook.com or 647.821.9693. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
